EMERGENCY RADIOLOGY FELLOWSHIP
Department of Radiology
New York-Presbyterian Hospital-Weill Cornell Medicine
This one year non-ACGME fellowship offers training in the growing field of emergency imaging, focusing on both traumatic and non-traumatic emergency conditions. NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center is a level I trauma center with an extremely busy urgent care center and provides emergency services to one of the most densely populated areas of New York City, as well as teleradiology services for affiliated emergency departments.
This fellowship program also focuses extensively on musculoskeletal MRI imaging; the fellow will read a variety of inpatient, emergency, and outpatient musculoskeletal MRI cases with dedicated musculoskeletal/emergency imaging attending radiologists in our ED department. Fellows can choose to participate in ultrasound and fluoroscopic-guided procedures.
In addition to dedicated emergency and musculoskeletal training, fellows can choose to spend time on sub-specialty services such as neuroradiology, cardiovascular, and body/thoracic imaging in order to obtain the level of expertise required to practice in the emergency department setting. There is flexibility in the amount of time spent on each of these rotations to fit with the needs and interests of our fellows.
Depending on the learning focus and future career goals of the Emergency Radiology fellows, daytime and evening shifts are available, with flexible daily and weekly scheduling. There are bimonthly fellow teaching conferences as well as many opportunities for fellows to participate in research as well as medical student and resident education. An academic fund is offered for fellows who wish to attend emergency or musculoskeletal imaging conferences.
Applications are rolling, with the final deadline for the July 2021 – June 2022 for the Emergency Imaging fellowship on September 30, 2019. Interviews will be held throughout the fall. Please see our Body+ Imaging Fellowship page for a list of the required application documents.
We look forward to receiving your application!
