About Wilson Imaging

Wilson Imaging is a direct-to-patient, self-pay extremity MRI service based in San Francisco’s Financial District. We do one thing: high-quality open extremity MRI at a flat rate, with results in 48 hours. No insurance. No prior auth. No bureaucracy.

We are looking for one exceptional MSK fellowship-trained radiologist to join us as an independent contractor.

Why This Is Different

Our case mix is knee-heavy (approximately 37% knee, followed by ankle/foot, then other extremities), non-contrast, open extremity. Studies are clean, well-positioned, and technically consistent. Our imaging manager is an experienced R.T.(MR) (ARRT) who takes pride in acquisition quality.

Our Medical Director, Dr. Jenny Sanders, DPM, personally reviews and interprets all foot, ankle, and lower leg studies. Knee reads are where we most need a radiologist we trust completely —your knee reporting needs to stand on its own, because that is where we are most reliant on you.

We have developed a Wilson Imaging MSK Reporting Standard — a one-page checklist covering required measurements, stress reaction grading, impression format, and addendum policy — built from the ground up with our current radiologist. We ask that reads follow this format. It is not about telling you how to practice; it is about consistency, completeness, and clinical actionability for the providers and patients who depend on these reports.

What We Are Looking For

• MSK fellowship training, board-certified or board-eligible
• Demonstrable comfort with knee, ankle, foot, wrist, and hand MRI
• Commitment to 24-hour routine turnaround (business hours)
• Willingness to follow the Wilson Reporting Standard and accept occasional addendum requests for true clinical-impact items
• Independent contractor arrangement, 1099
• Remote reads via secure DICOM transfer

Current Volume and Trajectory

Current Wilson volume is low (1-2 studies per week) — this is a ground-floor opportunity. We have begun active marketing and project growth to 15-20 studies per week within 6 months. We are building this relationship now so quality and consistency are in place before volume scales.

Compensation

Per-read fee, competitive with outpatient MSK teleradiology market rates. Discussed directly with qualified candidates.
