Academic Musculoskeletal Radiologist - Columbia University - New York, NY
The Department of Radiology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center / NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital is seeking an outstanding candidate to join the Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology as a full-time faculty member.
The Division of Musculoskeletal Radiology is a dynamic and robust service that works hand in hand with world class referring physicians, particularly from the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Rheumatology, and Rehabilitation/Regenerative Medicine. There is a strong emphasis on adult and pediatric sports imaging as we provide imaging services for professional teams including the New York Yankees, New York City Football Club, Rockland Boulders, collegiate athletic programs including Fordham University and Columbia University, and numerous regional high school athletic programs. Spine imaging is also a focal point in our practice as we work closely with our orthopaedic surgery colleagues at The Spine Hospital, the only dedicated spine center in New York. The division provides a full array of musculoskeletal imaging and interventions including MRI, CT, X-ray, diagnostic US, and image guided interventions (predominantly US-guided).
We are expanding to meet the demands of our growing service. A new MRI Center, with 7 new state of the art GE 3T SIGNA Premier MRIs including a dedicated research scanner, is currently in staged construction and set to be fully completed by next summer. We have also recently opened a dedicated US procedure room at our midtown Manhattan outpatient office (West 51st St.), staffed with expert MSK technicians.
We pride ourselves, first and foremost, on a collegial team-oriented work environment with all faculty members working closely together to provide a high level of patient care. We do not read in anonymity and each individual is supported so that they can reach their own professional goals. There is promotion of continued learning and career development targeted to the staff level. We have clinical conferences in place both within our own section (among MSK attendings) and in conjunction with other sections (pediatric radiology, orthopaedics, etc.). With the opening of our new MRI Center, there will be a unique opportunity to explore MSK applications of novel MR sequences and artificial intelligence with support from and in collaboration with our on-site GE research team and the Division of Physics.
