The University of Missouri has an opening for an ABR certified and fellowship trained MSK radiologist to join a section, which currently has 3 fellowship trained MSK radiologists. All ranks and tenure or nontenure tracks. The position involves diagnostic MRI, CT, US, imaging-guided MSK procedures and plain film. Faculty rank and position will be commensurate with credentials and experience. The faculty member will have the opportunity to assist in the growth of the radiologic services, education of medical students, residents and fellows, as well as participate in research and scholarly activities.
The MSK radiology service is based in the Missouri Orthopedic Institute (MOI), which is central Missouri's largest freestanding orthopedic center. MOI has just completed phase 1 of a $40 million expansion, and the orthopedic department is growing rapidly, creating a need for expansion of the MSK radiology section. MSK faculty work closely with an academic and highly subspecialized orthopedic department as well as other departments in the university and the community. MU is a level 1 Trauma center serving a wide catchment area in central Missouri. The available equipment is state-of-the-art and includes a 3T Siemens Skyra scanner as well as 4 additional 1.5T magnets. Two 3T magnets are scheduled to be added to the system. Approximately 250,000 exams are performed each year serving the University Hospital & Clinics, Ellis Fischel Cancer Center, and Women's and Children's Hospital and an imaging center.
