Musculoskeletal Radiology and Intervention Fellowship
Our goals are to train fellows in advanced image interpretation of a wide variety of disorders of the musculoskeletal system and to teach proficiency in image-guided musculoskeletal procedures. Our practice involves diagnosis and treatment of the entire spectrum of musculoskeletal disorders including trauma, internal derangement, tumors, infection, and arthritis. Through one-on-one teaching at the workstation, case conferences, lectures, and interdepartmental conferences with our Orthopedic colleagues, the fellow will become comfortable interpreting these cases. As a tertiary care center, we care for patients throughout South and Central Texas of all socioeconomic classes and health. We are fortunate to work closely with 2 Orthopedic Oncologists (UT Health San Antonio MD Anderson Cancer Center) who refer bone and soft tissue tumor cases which are discussed in our weekly Orthopedic Oncology and Sarcoma conferences. As part of our team, the fellow will perform image-guided procedures at University Hospital and our outpatient imaging centers, The Medical Arts & Research Center and UT Hill Country. Additionally, our fellow receives an appointment as Clinical Instructor in the Department of Radiology. As a Clinical Instructor, the fellow provides faculty-level on-call coverage at our Level I Trauma Center. Therefore, board certification/eligibility as well as Texas licensure are prerequisites for the fellowship. The University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, as an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer, seeks to attract qualified individuals of diverse backgrounds to its faculty, staff and student body. Accordingly, UT-San Antonio does not discriminate against any individual on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin, age, disability, or veteran status in admissions, educational programs, or employment of faculty or staff.
